Jambalaya
My Jambalaya came out insanely spicy. My dad, who cannot take spice anymore, suffered through it for me. I felt a little bad, and insisted that he didn’t need to, but he still did. I’ve got admit that I love the slight burn and flush that the spice causes, though I’ll concede that it could use a few adjustment.
A New Year's Resolution
I’ve decided to finally come up with a few New Year’s resolutions. Last minute? Me? Oh, no, never.
Anyways. My New Year’s resolutions include, but are not limited to:
Being solidly, permanently vegan. And I might, tentatively, work with removing sugar from my diet. But that’s another thought.
Attempting every last one of the recipes in each and every of my...
My resolution was "get a boyfriend"

but I think I’ll change it to “get a fish”
Fuck men.
Fish are much more rewarding.
you just drop a few food pellets in their tank, and they love you.
Life is full of sighs.
Making Jambalaya and curling my hair. I really hope tonight is interesting. I don’t want to have a dull, slow, monotonous New Year’s Eve. I need to be kept busy. I need to think less. At least until Monday.

Fighting with my mother...
… as always. Frustrating? Yes.
Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf
I woke up at five with the urge to bake (not as though that is anything new). It took me a good two hours to decide what to create. I came upon a recipe for a lemon poppy seed loaf that looks utterly scrumptious. It’s got only about ten more minutes until I can smother it in a tart glaze and feast.
Upcoming Horror Movies →
My friend introduced me to this site yesterday. I’m in heaven. When I got home from his house, I spent a good couple of hours searching through it. Horror film marathon? I think yes.
Craving of the Day
I really, really, really would like to watch Trick ‘r Treat right now. Along with:
The Descent
The Hangover
Repo
Grandma’s Boy
And a few other assorted films.
Working on...
… my new recipe book. My dad got me an empty leather bound, cloth paper journal for Christmas, for the soul purpose of gathering my recipes. I love that he stands behind me on this. And I realize that the leather is rather disturbing and goes against my vegan standards, but it was such a heartfelt gesture, and it is so gorgeous.

1. You alone have the power to make yourself happy and to make yourself the kind of life you want. No matter how tough, you can handle it.
2. “This was a choice, this was never a mistake.” Never a mistake. Good or bad. It was a choice you made and ultimately make you a stronger, better, happier person.

Julia Child
My mother gave me the movie Julie & Julia, a set of Julia Child’s cooking shows, and one of her cook books for Christmas. Right now I’m watching “The Potato Show”. Who knew there were at least 200 ways to prepare potatoes. Most seem to include cream, cheese, or butter. Or all three.
I love how Julia doesn’t use exact nor proper measurement. It’s...

Me, Myself, and I
I am the type of person that will make a seven course meal, just because I feel like it. I was craving banana bread this morning, so I made it. And ate the entire loaf. When I feel the urge to clean, I begin with the dishes, then the rest of the kitchen. Then I move to my “wardrobe room” and bathroom. Then the rest of the upstairs and downstairs.
I’m the type of person...
On the subject of fathers (mine specifically)...
I was going to the theatre to see Sherlock Holmes with my parents, but it was sold out. Instead we went to Gamestop and got a hand full of games for our very own, brand new Wii. My dad has challenged my mother and I to a game playing extravaganza. He says he can “pown” us at it.
I love my dad. We got him an electric helicopter and a set of dueling cars for Christmas. While I was...

Tradition or Veganism?
I’m breaking my vegan diet for our Christmas Eve tradition.
Salted cod, onions, potatoes, kale, and eggs. All boiled.
Doesn’t sound all too appealing, does it? It’s a lot better than you would think. Especially because it means a full kitchen. The entire family is in there. I love it.

I smell like ginger. I just made gingerbread and gingerbread cookies.
